Good Morning Gentlemen.

Just a quick 'what's on' for this weekend.

Firstly, on Friday at Peakirk we have a talk by club member Martin Judge on Aspects of Indoor Flying You May Never have Tried, But They Will Improve Your Times No End. Martin is an avid indoor flyer and impressively, only missed being a member of the British Indoor Team by one second at the recent Trials. (and if that's not impressive! I don't know what is!!) So, if you've never graded your wood by stiffness after you've weighed each piece, or have never 'wound to a torque value to match a specific room' then this talk is definitely for you.....and me.

And Secondly, having got in the mood with the Friday talk, you can put some of the knowledge to good use on Saturday at Bushfield where we will be having our Bushfield Bash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All the usual stuff, No Shockies, small R/C only (and we mean SMALL!). I shall be running the same comps as before, that is to say: Standard Gyminie, 'No Limits' Gyminie, Bostonian, and our New comp, Hangar Rat.

Entry Fees as before, £1 per model, all monies divvied up between the top 3, (or the winner if there are not many entries in a particular category.) Moley has come up with a new way to win money. This is a Winner Takes All competition that runs alongside the regular comps.

The way it works is: There will be a large board with the 4 categories of competition marked on it in 4 columns. The idea is that you pay £1 per category, just for the one that you're flying, (you don't have to enter them all) and you put your best time up in that column, (if that column is empty). The next time that an entry is posted in that particular column is when the time is better than the time that is on the board. Say there is a time of 76 seconds in the Hangar Rat column, you only put your time on the board if it beats 76 seconds. This may be your own time. The same thing applies to all columns. at the end of the meeting, the flier with the highest time, i.e. the last name on the board in each category scoops the pool. (in that category.)

This does lend itself to some tactical play.!! I can foresee one or two ways this might happen.(work it out for yourself!). As the times are posted for all to see, you can watch the competition unfold.

Also, if there is a grudge match between two (or more) fliers, they could have an individual 'Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is' battle. (what they choose to battle with, is entirely up to them, so " my Gyminie is better that your Hangar Rat" is a perfectly viable contest.) We will add extra columns as required.

All flights to be timed by independent timers btw. so no self-timed flights allowed. (as always, Honesty is the best policy, and we trust every one of you)

There we are, this weekends fun and games.....be there or be square!

see you on Friday mates.

P.S, I just had a phone call from Charlie Newman. He's planning a new scale comp for September (it won't clash with Flying Aces) so watch this space.
