Peakirk Mini Goodyear 1000 lap Challenge

From Brian Lever after the event:-
"Gentlemen, Many thanks for your support yesterday for the 1000 lap challenge.

You will be pleased to learn we have raised the amazing total of £529 in cash with pledges still to be collected.

In no particular order here are the laps flown by each pilot:

  • Richard Arnold ( Had to leave early for family celebration) 49
  • Mick Taylor 187
  • Bryan Lea 55
  • Julio Isidro 213
  • David Clark 256
  • Brian Waterland 127
  • Steve Turner 116
  •  -
  • TOTAL 1003

As you are aware we had a very restricted flying space so with only a damaged combat wing from 1003 laps we can consider this a great success.

We are probably the only model flying club in the country with members who regularly fly free flight duration, radio, scale ( radio and free flight), and indoor ( duration and scale), who can put on a control line show and fly 1003 laps! We should be justly proud of this achievement.

No doubt there will be plenty of photographs from Mick Page in the weeks ahead.

Congratulations to you all,
Brian.

Peakirk Mini Goodyear 1000 lap Challenge

The Peakirk Mini Goodyear 1000 lap challenge takes place on Peakirk Village Green on Saturday, 6th August. Flying to commence from 10.30am.

The following pilots have confirmed wishing to take part:-

  • RICHARD ARNOLD
  • DAVID CLARK
  • JULIO ISIDRO
  • BRIAN LEA
  • BRIAN LEVER
  • MICK TAYLOR
  • STEVE TURNER
  • BRIAN WATERLAND

The 1000 laps are to commemorate Peakirk Parish Church reaching the age of 1000 years. Sponsorship forms are available from Brian Lever should any members wish to sponsor the huge effort involved. i.e 1p per lap = £10 or 10p for 10 laps = £1 or any combination you may wish. All funds raised will go to the maintenance of one of the oldest churches in the entire country.

Members are most welcome to attend on the day to either watch proceedings or help with timekeeping and lap counting.

Certain pilots have models of their own to bring and fly. Please could they confirm to Brian Lever ([email protected]) they will bring a model and also importantly (as space is tight) they will have the BMFA Mini Goodyear line length of 13.5M to fly on.

We already have £350 pledged towards our target of £1000 and every penny will be much appreciated.

Tea/Coffee and light refreshments will be available in the nearby Village Hall. Seating will be available on the Green.

With a decent weather forecast it will be a great morning out for all.

With Thanks for your support,
Best Regards, Brian Lever.
