A big variety of gliders, with a mixture of hard working tugs.

Accurate flying and landing by the tugs meant fast turn rounds and little waiting by the gliders. I was suprised at the speed of the tow, with many models releasing in about 40 seconds having reached between 400 and 500 metres.

For me, the white, high aspect ratio modern gliders were "disappearing" against the light grey clouds well before the top of the tow - you need good eyes for this.....
